He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Brooks-Carnes; his daughters, Brenda Brown of Columbus, GA and Trudi Carnes of Phenix City, AL; his grandchildren, Tobias Lyles (Twanna) of Smith Station, AL, Brandon Carnes (Lyndia) of Phenix City, AL, Frank Carnes of Phenix City, AL, Jairus Lyles (Tiana) of Topeka, Kimberly Alexander (Kindel) of Columbus, GA and Dorshandra "Babygirl" Carnes of Phenix City, AL.; his siblings, Alberta Cotton of Phenix City, AL, Walter Carnes (Lillie) of Phenix City and Willie B. Carnes (Bertina) of Columbus, GA; and his siblings-in-law, Katie Carnes of Phenix City, AL, Faye Bell Smith of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Bula Thomas of Phenix City, AL, Charlie Smith and Tommy Smith of Ft. Mitchell, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
