It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol S. Spakes of Phenix City, Alabama, born in Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Booker Sudduth and Rosalind "Honey" Underwood Sudduth; and her brother Jessie B. "Skipper" Sudduth, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Larry Joe Spakes of Phenix City, AL; her children, Justin Spakes (Collie) and JoAnna Eckberg (Eric); her sisters, June Capps and Leslie Dudley; her grandchildren, Lyla Marie Spakes, Joseph Michael Spakes, Marley Paige Eckberg and Ronald David-Blu Eckberg; and her stepchildren, Todd Spakes (Tina) and Shielah Orchard (Kim). She is also survived by several step grand-children, nieces and nephews.
