It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brenda Whitaker Carden of Phenix City, Alabama, who passed away on March 27, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Whitaker and Gladys Whitaker; her son David E. Fortune; and her husband Billy Carden. She is survived by: her sons, Scottie Earl Fortune (Jodie), Danny Earl Fortune and Shannon Earl Fortune (Michelle); her sister Norma Pierce; her grandchildren, Steven Fortune (Kasey), Scottie Hunter Fortune (Maggie), Alexus Gonzalez (Jafed), Danielle Fortune, Nikki Storey, Bruce Hutto and Tyler Kimbrough; and her great grandchildren, Josiah, Scottie Luke, Payton and Scarlett Rose. She is also survived by several other greatgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
