She was predeceased by: her parents, Jewell Earnest Thrower, Sr. and Mary Margaret "Maggie" Bullard Thrower; her husband William N. Melson, Jr.; and her siblings, Jewell Earnest Thrower, Jr., Roger Allen Thrower, Jim Thrower, Jane Thrower, Mary Sue Thrower and Jean Bullard.
She is survived by: her sons, William Melson, II of Birmingham, AL and Darrell Melson of Reno, NV; and her siblings, Wanda Christian (Frank) of Camp Hill, AL, Raymond Thrower of Richland, GA, Ervin Thrower (Hela) of Atlanta, GA and Derrell Thrower (Shelia) of Smiths Station, AL. She is also survived by several grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, and many extended family.
