It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Adell Johnson (Phenix City, Alabama), born in Hatchechubbee, Alabama, who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lee Johnson and Frank Johnson Sr.; his brother Frank Johnson Jr.; his son-in-law Melvin F. Norwood; and his great grandchild Aron Jones III.
He is survived by: his wife Lula Mae Johnson; his children, Mary Norwood, Katherine Jordan, Laverne Jones (Aaron), Brenda Coley (Kenneth), Melvin Marshall and Adell Johnson (Delois); his siblings-in-law, Patricia Holmes, Fannie Thomas, Pressie B. Johnson and Deacon Bill Carr; and also James Graham (Carol). He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Providence Baptist Church (5227 14th Ave, Columbus, GA 31904).
