She was predeceased by: her parents, Shirley Gene Bates and Virgil Lee "Pete" Spivey; and her brother Troy Butler. She is survived by: her husband Doug Slay; her daughters, Kayla Marie Black (Jeremy) and Jennifer Lynn Slay; her granddaughters, Chelsea Marie Black and Isabella Marie Black; and her brothers, Roy Butler and Gary Spivey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 901 Comer Avenue, Pell City, Alabama 35125.
