He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward D. Chaney and Idell Chaney; his son David Chaney; his siblings, Curtis, Charles, David Chaney, Ruby Milton and Shelby; and his granddaughter Kayla Harrison.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Chaney; his children, Scott Chaney (Jennifer), Judy Bryant, Hope McNabb and Charity Harrison (Patrick); his close friend Pat Chaney; and his sisters, Louise Bentley, Evelyn Fauncher and Shirley Townley. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
