He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Curtis M. "Pete" Pond, Jr.; his wife Laura Pond; his children, James William Pond (Debbie), Pam Matson (Mike), Joy Mullins (Cliff) and Janet Sing (Buddy); his daughter-in-law Patti Pond; and his sister Betty Ann Allen. He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Pell City First Baptist Church.
