He was predeceased by: his wife Norma Wesson; his parents, Marvin Wesson and Mavies Wesson; and his siblings, Ralph Wesson, Lowell Wesson, Frank Wesson, Earl Wesson Sr., Wallace Wesson, Vera Tharin, Louise Martin, Joy Brickhouse and Marie Boone.

He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Wesson (Susan) and Mark Wesson (Lisa); his sister Johnnie Ruth Edmondson; his grandchildren, Christie Morgan (Scotty), Samantha Wesson, Evan Wesson, Joe Cargal and Heather Angel (Jeremy); and his great grandchildren, Madison Morgan, Maci Morgan, Kaleb Cargal, Kolby Cargal, Kory Cargal, Kayla Angel, Allison "Alli" Angel and Brandon Angel (Betty Heise). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
