He was predeceased by: his father Randell Ellis; and his brother Jimmy Dale Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Debra "Debbie" Hardin Ellis; his daughters, April Smith (Scott) and Cristina Morgan; his mother Lorene Piper; his grandchildren, Ivy Smith, Randi Morgan of Karli Rutledge, D. J, Hanson and Michael Yost; and his brother Richard Ellis (Marilyn).
