He was predeceased by: his parents, L. Z. Phillips and Martha Phillips; his daughter Sue Phillips Ezell; his grandson Barry Stephens; and his stepson Jason Newton.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Thrash Phillips; his children, Cedria "Dee" King, Lexie Stephens and Harley Phillips (Dana); his stepson Joseph Newton (Lori); and his grandchildren, Raymond King, David Stephens, Brandon Stephens, Justin Stephens, Stephanie Parsell (Chris), Brandy Dang (Huy), Marie Aldrege (Jonathan), Haley Hudson (Josh), Haven Phillips, Hayden McDonald (Connor) and Declan Newton. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
