He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lamar Adair and Mary Drennen Doolittle Adair; his wife Patrica Mae Morgan; and his brothers, Charles, Homer and Floyd.

He is survived by: his children, William "Mark" Adair, Jr. (Jill) and Julie Sullivan (Randy). He is also survived by three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Bluff Park United Methodist Church.
