He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas P. Melton, Jr. and Eulynne Brantley Melton; and his brother William Dudley Melton. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Melton; his children, Deborah Ann McTague (Robert) and Thomas P. Melton, IV; his grandchildren, Brantley Vittetoe and Maggie Vittetoe; and his sister Marilyn Cook of Evergreen.
