With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rocco Anthony Plaia (Pelham, Alabama), who passed away on September 17, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Plaia and Sarah Plaia; and his brother Sam. He is survived by: his wife Leetha; his children, Joe (Andrea), Mike (Christa), Tony (Annette), Zac Whaley, Katya and Yuyla Mattox (Chris); his grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia, Gabriella, Maxim, Gray, Alex, Camden, Giuliana and Arianna; his sister Mary Rose Conlin (Jon); his sister-in-law Denise Plaia; and his aunt Virginia Contorno.

Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be given to the UAB Department of Pediatrics: Alabama Centers for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital, 1600 7th Avenue South.
