She was predeceased by: her husband Hoyt Carter; her parents, Arthur Hicks and Lucille Capps Hicks; and her sister Willie Jim Spann. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Carter Wilkey (Gene), Pam Carter (Margaret Ann Mayfield) and Dan Carter (Marian); her grandchildren, Lauren Wilkey Morse (Brian), Katie Wilkey Bailey (Tommy), Jeremy Carter (Meredith) and Ryan Carter; her great grandchildren, Carter Morse, Katelyn Morse, Lucy Bailey, Gunner Bailey and Silas Carter; and her siblings, Joe Hicks and Sara McCrary. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
