He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Kunze and Elinor Kunze; his sister Sydna Becker; his stepson Mark Carroll; and his wife Brenda Carnes Kunze.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Kunze Maddox (Andy), Chris Kunze (Tina) and Scott Kunze (Laura); his grandchildren, Drew Maddox (Taylor), Will Maddox, Brennan Kunze, Garrett Kunze, Carlin Kunze, DeDe Shipp and Brooke Carroll; and his siblings, Judy Hanna (Buddy), Linda Sanborn and John Kunze (Marleen).
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be sent to Spring Valley School (a school that excels in teaching children with Dyslexia), 2701 Sydney Drive, Birmingham, AL 35211.
