She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. Fletcher and Helen M. Hale Fletcher; her former husband Jim Nelson; her husband Bob Petzold; her brother Gerald "Gerry" William Fletcher (Beans); and her son John James Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey Nelson (Karla) of Fultondale, AL and Celia Plourde (David) of Alabaster, AL; her grandsons, Matt Nelson and Evan Bomer (Emily); and her great grandchild Skylan. She is also survived by friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, the family requests donations be made to local animal welfare and conservation organizations.
