He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kilgore and Kathleen Kilgore; his former wife Hilda Kilgore; and his sons, Mark and James Mitchell Kilgore.

He is survived by: his son Tony Kilgore, Jr. (Kim); his wife Mary Kilgore; his siblings, Syrecia Lewis and Mitchell Kilgore (Barbara); and his grandchildren, Abbe Kilgore and Drew Kilgore (Logan). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
