He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Courington and Velma Courington; and his siblings, Meta Honna, Gerald Courington, Bill Courington, Kenneth Courington and Francis "Dodie" Courington.
He is survived by: his wife Nell Courington; his children, Cynthia Sanders (Mark), Terry Short (Renee) and Brian Short (Michelle); his siblings, Betty Jankowski, Jim Courington and Claude "Butch" Courington; and his great grandchild Host. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
