He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Joan Thomas Sparks; his parents, Elmer Robert Sparks and Dora Harris Sparks; his siblings, Elmer Lee Sparks and Lois McGaughy; and his grandparents, Robert Sparks, Emma Alexander Sparks, Samuel Harris and Millie Ann Tidwell Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Wayne Sparks, Shelley Renee Cheatham (Chris) and Kimberly Joan Franklin (Darrin); his grandchildren, Micah Franklin (Jordan), Abigail Franklin Boshell and Molly Cheatham Daniel (Trey); his great grandchildren, Adelyn Rose Boshell, Cooper Wayne Daniel, Maggie Renee Daniel and Ilah Grace Franklin; and his sisters, Charlene Griggs, Linda Smith and Imogene Drake. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
