He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Joan Payton; his sons, Matthew Ellis (Lydia) of Troy and Kyle Ellis (Bailey) of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; his parents, Malgum Ellis and Katherine Gilley Ellis of Ariton, Alabama; his brother Danny Ellis (Rita) of Ariton, Alabama; his grandchildren, CeCe, Gracie, Bennett, Jack Riley and Sawyer Ellis; his sisters-in-law, Judy Sanders (Jerry), Diane Hulvey (Edward, Jr.), Donna Kilpatrick (John) and Tammy Moyd (Mike); and his nieces and nephews, Daniel Ellis, Charles Ellis (Angel), Maria Frase (Mark), Lydia Wilcox (Doug), Chris Brown (Nancy), Andrea Givens, Justin Hulvey (Kelli), Jenna Barron (Kyle), Joshua Hulvey, Jacob Hulvey, Brad Kilpatrick (Samone), Ashley Cary (Ryan), David Rosser (Bonnie), Tyler and Evan Moyd.
