He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Sanders and Louise King Sanders; his siblings, Dorothy Williams, Estelle Langford and O'Neal Sanders; and his brother-in-law Buster Woods.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Woods Sanders; his children, Tammy Marie Johnson (Paul), Cindy Smith and Ricky Sanders; his sister Betty Smith (Ricky); his grandchildren, Cody Smith, Kyle Smith (Anna), Ashley Johnson (Josh), Brittany Whiddon, Lindsay Hamilton (Hayden), Mason Johnson, Raelynn Johnson, Whaylon Whiddon, Ember Whiddon, Maverick Smith, Enzo Smith and Cameron Smith; and his extended family, David Woods (Michelle), Margaret Weber (Ed), Mary Clements (Bobby) and Deborah Woods. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home (508 Faust Ave, Ozark, AL 36360). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel (508 Faust Ave, Ozark, AL 36360).
