He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Tharpe and Gladys Whittle Tharpe; his brother James Lomax Tharpe; and his siblings-in-law, Nell Bell Tharpe and Olen Grantham (Ruth).
He is survived by: his wife Faye Grantham Tharpe; his sons, Keith Tharpe (Bonnie) of Echo, Wicksburg of Echo, Kyle Tharpe (Jennifer A.) of Echo and Kirby Tharpe (Jennifer L.) of Echo; his brother Gerald Tharpe; his sister-in-law Enzell Tharpe; his grandchildren, Stacy Tharpe, Leah Shirley (Dustin), Mason Tharpe (Jamie), Jordan Howell (Corbin) and Whitt Tharpe; and his great grandchildren, Max Tharpe, Laila Kate Shirley and Kaia Shirley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
