John Oscar Matthews Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Oscar Matthews of Ozark, Alabama, who passed away on March 27, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Matthews and Lillie Mae Matthews; and his sisters, Vinell, Mary Emma and Rubynell.
He is survived by: his brothers, J. W. Sammie J. and Haiston; his niece Carolyn Shelton; his wife Annie Ruth Matthews; and his children, John Preston Matthews, Elliot Matthews, Laura Smith (Charles), Sabrina Whitehead and Arlisha Johnson. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; sixteen greatgrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
