He was predeceased by: his parents, William Oscar Edgar and Eula Francis Baker Phillips; his wife Margaret Anne DeVaughan Edgar; and his siblings, Gladys Phillips Mills, Mattie Edgar Nance, Albert Edgar and Oyer Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Marcella Faith Scurlock (Mike) of Cottondale, Florida and David Marcus Edgar (Becky) of Butler, Alabama; his sisters, Clara Cardwell of New Brockton and Lilla Cotter of Ozark, Alabama; his grandchildren, Terry Edgar, Tara Edgar, Scotty Scurlock, Marcus Edgar, Cody Scurlock and Randi Smith; and his great grandchildren, Callen Scurlock, Cannen Scurlock, Tyler Blackburn, Carsen Scurlock, Blakely Smith and WesliAnn Smith.
