He was predeceased by: his siblings, Edwin Virginius Smith (Martha North) of Auburn, Julia Frances Smith of Panama City, Myra Belle Jackson (George) of Birmingham, Marguerite Walker (Thurman) of Pensacola, Susie Carolyn Foster of Ozark and James Mizell Smith (Dorothea) of Texas; and his daughter-in-law Anne Allison Smith of Jasper.
He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Rutledge and James'; his wife Jane; his daughter Lucy; his son-in-law Kevin Casteel of Westland; his daughter Patti; his son-in-law Louis Parker of League City; his children, Becky, Paul Smith of Jasper and Debbie; his son-in-law Clarence Miller of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Mikki Stovall (Billy) of Lufkin, Dusty Miller of Lufkin, Jason Meade of Houston, Jodi Meade of Cedar Park, Holly Peel (Ryan) of League City, Trevor Parker (Andrea) of League City, Sarah Thompson (Duane) of Leander, Shelby Smith (Tim) of League City, Mallory Castillo (Michael) of League City, Leah Casteel of Westland, Katherine Smith (Daniel) of Pearland and Abbey Barnett (Joshua) of League City; and also Homer Rutledge. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
