He is survived by: his wife Janice Carver Butler; his daughter Jan Butler of Ozark; his sisters, Martha Tepker (Timothy) and Liza Griner (Glynn); and his grandchildren, Hayden Sloan, Gracee Sloan, Nevaeh Sloan, John Clayson Sloan, Leianna Sloan, Hope Cox, Bryson Groover and Abram Cox. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
