He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Douglas Godwin and Cecil Kelly Godwin; his wife Thelma Brown; and his brothers, Roy Roney Godwin and John Douglas Godwin.
He is survived by: his daughter Toni Sells (Tonya) of Seattle, WA; his extended family, Nichole Lusher (Brian), Jennifer Godwin (Bob) of Tucson, AZ and Melinda Godwin (Josh) of Southport, FL; his son Wesley Godwin (Sierra); his sister Inez Tharpe; and the mother of his children Joyce Godwin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
