He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Lowell Sammons and Lydia Clifford Chapman Sammons; his son Duane Earl Sammons; his brothers, James Sammons and Marvin Sammons; his nephew Russell Sammons; his wife Virginia C. Danner Sammons; his daughters, Nita McGhee (Grant) of Ariton and Mona Sullivan (Antony) of Ariton; his brothers, Gerald Sammons and Spurgeon Sammons (Chris); his grandchildren, Joey McGhee, Justin McGhee, Tyler Sullivan, Josh Sullivan and Kendle Sullivan; and his great grandchild Dixon McGhee.
