He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Benjamin Gouge and Ida Bell Hammond Gouge; his wife Jacklin "Jackie" Gouge; his daughter Debbie; his son-in-law Keith Stinson; his sister Betty; and his brothers-in-law, Bud Bullington and John Camden.
He is survived by: his children, Lois Merritt (Daniel), Gary Gouge, Sr. (Katherine) and Charles T. Gouge (Sonya); and his siblings, Sarah Camden and Bill Gouge (Eva). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren.
