He was predeceased by: his mother Mozell Strickland; his stepfather Hubert Strickland; his father Dero Padgett; and his stepmother Jewel Padgett. He is survived by: his children, Malissa Gilley (Mike) of Ozark, Kim Dean (Brad) of Louisville, Michael Padgett (Sherry) of Bascom and Lee Padgett (JoAnna) of Abbeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to DaySpring Hospice, 100 Professional Lane, Enterprise, Alabama 36330.
