It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Bumpers of Oxford, Alabama, who passed away on July 31, 2020, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde F. Bumpers and Sallie Motes Bumpers; his son Derick Louis Bumpers; his sisters, Marcy Gates and Carol Butts; his nephew Jimmy C. Gates; and his father-in-law Williams C. Batley, Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Batley Bumpers; his son Steven Bumpers (Wendy); his granddaughter Megan Bumpers of Oxford; and his siblings, Phillip Bumpers (Linda) of Conway, AR, Frances Bayles of Monroeville, Ellen Roe of Salitpa and Jane Roberts (Charlie) of Jackson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
