It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelby Jean Carroll Raper (Oxford, Alabama), who passed away on September 4, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald Raper Sr.; her grandson Michael "Scott" Hatten; her parents, Bertha Carroll and Retta Aldredge; her parents-in-law, Frank and Louise Raper; and her sisters, Ann Burgess Carter (Bill), Jo Calloway (Raymond) and Judy Evans (Doug).
She is survived by: her children, Frankie Hatten (Mike), Tracy Raper (Rhonda), Gerald Raper (Lisa) and Chris Raper (Connie); and her grandchildren, Crystal Bryan (Shaun), Shannon Navarre (Stephen), Nicole Raper, Anna Hughes, Allie Hughes, Katie Holman (Alex), Paige Knight (Austin), Deshawn Raper, Dalton Clark, Lauren Vinson and Chase Vinson. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
