With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sarah Ruth Dempsey (Oxford, Alabama), born in Munford, Alabama, who passed away on July 3, 2022 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Preston Dabbs and Ophelia Dabbs; her husband Reverend Odis Ray Dempsey; and her siblings, Robert "Buck" Dabbs, Howard Dabbs, Jimmy Dabbs, Margaret Prater and Sadie Knight.
She is survived by: her sons, Randy Dempsey (Lisa), Keith Dempsey (Amy), Blake Dempsey (Jenny) and Dean Dempsey (Kim); her grandchildren, Daniel Dempsey (Laura), Anna Anaganostopoulos (Nicholas), Kristen Seabolt (John), Jared Dempsey and Brad Dempsey; her great grandchildren, Parker Dempsey, Sawyer Dempsey, Ryanne Addyson Dempsey, Emaline Anaganostopoulos and Riggs Dempsey; and her grandsons, Ryan Dempsey, Micah Dempsey and Kyle Dempsey. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church of Oxford.
