It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Eugene Prater (Oxford, Alabama), born in Anniston, Alabama, who passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Prater and Lillian Eden Prater; and his siblings, Jerry Prater, Kenneth Prater, Keith Prater and Sandra Prater.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Prater; his daughters, Tammy Nolen (Ray) and Misty Pointer (Lee); his grandchildren, Megan Chandler (Michael), Blake Pointer (Amberly), Mason Nolen (Miranda) and Landon Pointer (Bre); and his great grandchildren, Emerson Pointer, Ryleigh Chandler, Ezra Pointer and Averie Pointer. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many niece and nephews.
