He was predeceased by: his parents, William Buford and Barney Lee Stockley Scott; his wife Nancy Scott; and his son Robert Eugene "Robbie" Scott. He is survived by: his sons, Paul Edward Scott (Darlene) of Lineville and Jay Scott (LeeAnn) of Wedowee; his grandchildren, Robert Dewayne Scott (Andrea), Christopher Lee Scott (Cayla), Tristen Scott (Alexis), Samuel Scott (Erin) and Matthew Scott (Siri); his great grandchildren, Izabella Sophia, Aaron Paul, Toby, Cody, Meadow, Everett and Emma; and his sister JoAnn Maddox of Montgomery.
