He was predeceased by: his parents, George Boyd Jr. and Lela Avaline Haynes Boyd. He is survived by: his wife Joan Snow Boyd; his children, Charity NeSmith and Joey Boyd (Marsha); his brother Kenneth Boyd (Sandra); his grandchildren, Wesley, Brodie, Rylee, Jameson, Josie Boyd, Joseph, Elizabeth, Jacob and Abigail NeSmith; and his brothers, John and Steve Boyd.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home.
