He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Hayes; his mother Annie Melton; and his mother-in-law Alice Key. He is survived by: his brothers, Frank Hayes (Glenda), Lester Hayes (Kathy) and Marvin Hayes; and his siblings-in-law, Rachel Burt, Nancy Greene, Eugene Denson Greene and James Greene. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
