She was predeceased by: her son Erich Boecklbauer; and her parents, Paul Jernigan and Elizabeth Jernigan. She is survived by: her brother Mike Jernigan; her foster son Lee Saffold; her close friends, Kelly Darwin and Deborah Wiggins; and her pet Butt. She is also survived by several extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Ms. Jernigan's name.
