He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Lanier and Kate Lanier; and his siblings, Sammy Lanier, Donny Lanier, Ethal Lanier Meeks, Florence Lanier Ricks, Margeret Lanier Meeks, Minnie Lanier Meeks and Till Lanier Hubbard.
He is survived by: his wife Bama Hughes Lanier; his children, Karon Edwards (Kevin Clark), Dianna Gnehm (Sean) and Daniel Lanier (Holly); and his pet Pebbles. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
