Anthony (Tony) Joseph Wasco Jr, 57, passed away on Monday, August 3rd, 2020 at his home in Owens Cross Roads, AL. Born April 3rd, 1963 in Jersey City, NJ, Tony was the son of Anthony Joseph Wasco and Carol Rose Macri-Wasco. He was a graduate of Crestwood High School in Mountain Top, PA, Class of 1981. Tony enlisted in the United States Army in 1985 and served as a Sergeant First Class.

His 17-year Military career included a tour in Iraq as part of Operation Provide Comfort. Tony was the Director of Science and Engineering Services in Huntsville, AL where he has been employed for the last 12 years. Tony's greatest accomplishment was his son, Anthony Joseph Wasco III, with whom he resided. He had a passion for fishing.

He fished with the Cargo Helicopter Bass Club, The Alabama Bass Trail, and Buster's Bait & Tackle Open. He participated in numerous Open Bass Fishing Tournaments and could often be found at one of his favorite spots, Guntersville Lake. He was known by many for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others in need.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Tony is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Louise Wasco of Wilkes-Barre, and John and Jean Macri, of Wilks-Barre. Surviving are his son, Anthony Joseph Wasco III , of Owens Cross Roads, AL; parents,, Anthony Joseph and Carol Rose Wasco, of Eufaula, AL; brothers Joseph Wasco and daughter Olivia, of Thornhurest, PA and Steven Wasco, of Owens Cross Roads, AL and his son, Cole, of Mountain Top, PA; sisters Mary Anne Wasco and children AJ, Samantha, and Adam Sam, of Dothan, AL and C. Lynn Yazwinsky, husband John, and daughters Alexandria and Victoria, of Mountain Top, PA.

Tony is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday, August 8th, 2020 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home from Noon until 2:00 pm. The funeral home is located at 6262 HWY 431 South, Hampton Cove, AL 35763. The family requests that you dress casually and come as you are, everyone is welcome.
