He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Sims and Neta Hammond Sims; his wife Jackie Overbey Sims; and his siblings, Earl Sims, Ralph Sims, Charlotte Sims Bane (Richard) and Emily Sims Busbea (Clay).
He is survived by: his daughter Shannon Sims Kimbriel of Meridian, Mississippi; his close friend Wanda Beard of Orange Beach, Alabama; and his siblings-in-law, Peggy Sims, Janice Sims of Kosciusko, Mississippi and Sonny Overbey of Jackson, Mississippi..
He enjoyed giving to Baptist Children's Village, and in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Baptist Children's Village P.O. Box 27 Clinton, Mississippi 39060.
