He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Abston; and his parents, Roy Laverne Abston and Etoyle Danley Abston. He is survived by: his children, Mac Abston (Elaine) of Huntsville and Dannie Deffenbaugh (Mark) of Pensacola; his brothers, Roy Abston (Phylis) of Florence and Steve Abston (Carolyn) of Florence; his grandchildren, Kristen Deffenbaugh Snell (Jonathan) of Homewood, Jenna Deffenbaugh England (Tyler) of Mobile, Evan Abston of Hoover, Ethan Abston and Eli Abston of Huntsville; and his great grandchildren, Addison England and Mary Ryan Snell.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Gulf Shores Church of Christ building fund, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
