He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Aughtman Gilmer; his grandson Jonathon Gilmer; his siblings, Gordon Gilmer and Sybil Coy; and his parents, Leora Bozeman Gilmer and Edward Eugene Gilmer.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Gilmer (Cassie), Jennifer Cox (Mike) and Kay Hudson (Steve); and his grandchildren, Amy Moseley (Chuck), Neal Cox (Traci), Erica Cox, Candace Fannin, Joe Gilmer, Adam Hudson and Ben Hudson (Jessica). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren & two great-great grandchildren.
