He was predeceased by: his son James Howard Young; his grandson Jonathan Scofield Young; his sister Rebecca Young Edgar; and his parents, Sarah Smith Young and Abner Mixon Young.
He is survived by: his children, Mona Young Hugghins (John), Kelly Young Duncan (Gary), Jeffery Mixon Young (Susan) and Justin Adams Young; and his grandchildren, Josh Young (Kerri), Ben Young, Leanne H. Jones (George), Thomas Hugghins (Lindsay), Karlin Hugghins, Anna S. Yarbrough (Derek), Hal Senn (Kelly), Kayla Y. Pellowski (Scott), Mick Young, Jay Young and Amy Young. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
