We bid farewell to George Buckelew of Opp, Alabama, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 29, 2024 at the age of 98. George touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Cook Buckelew; his brother William Howard "Boots" Buckelew; and his parents, Gladys Pearl Mooney Buckelew and George Dewey Buckelew. He is survived by: his daughter Sue Catrett; his son-in-law Larry; his sons, Larry Buckelew (Nancy), Mike Buckelew (Wanda), David Buckelew (Carrie) and Mitch Buckelew (Kelly); and his sister Olivia Herring. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to International Mission Board (3806 Monument Ave., Richmond, Virginia 23230) where one of his grandsons is currently serving.
