It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Powell Jr. (Opelika, Alabama), born in Ashland, Alabama, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Lee Powell, Sr. and Katie Dell Jordan Powell; his wife Emma Frances McKnight Powell; and his sister Mary Powell Bankston. He is survived by: his brother Wallace Powell; his nephews, Wes Powell (Marlene) and Jeff Bankston (Brenda); and his niece Kathy Farquhar (Andy).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Deaf Ministry of Opelika First Baptist Church, Alabama Baptist Conference for the Deaf and Talladega Institute for the Deaf and Blind.
