He is survived by: his children, Ruby Perry (Eugene), Barbara Griffin (Douglas Martin), Sidney Reed (Villel), Ron Reed (Miriam), June Reed and April Reed Nias; his grandchildren, Sidney Reed II, Willie-Lionel Reed, Evan Reed, Morgan Reed, Villel Earlene Reed, Regina Perry, Queston Perry, VonEric Perry, Antavis Griffin and Douglas Griffin; his great grandchildren, Nykashjah Perry, Khyleisha Perry, Amahree Morris, Antrevious Morris, Symeria Perry, Jakaylah Perry, Janyah Wallace, Neveah Perry, Zyquavious Perry, Zykeriah Perry, Zayden Griffin, Kaiden Griffin, Kenyan Griffin-Beatty, Kinsley Griffin-Beaty and Abigail Reed; his great great grandchild Journae Dowdell; his siblings, Jerry Carr (Virgina), Rogers Reed and Wilford Reed; his in-laws, Willie B. Baker (Marianne), Patricia Gibson (Keith), Vickey Foreman (Douglas), Shirley Baker and Jimmie Lou Baker; his nephew Greg Reed; his cousin Mary Williams; and his close friends, Claire Rosado and Ike Scott. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The lying in state was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church (650 Jeter Ave, Opelika, AL 36801). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
