He is survived by: his wife Mae Doris Melton of Opelika, AL; his children, Terry Melton (Catina) of Salem, AL, Towana Melton of Loachapoka, AL and Larry Maddox of Auburn, AL; his grandchildren, Terrence Melton (Natasha), Tameka Perry, Bryson Melton, Paris Beasley, Tamarcus Finley, Kwana Finley, Torretta Hughley, TyQuan Grady, Teanna Harris, Za'Kobe Collins and Za'kwan Collins; his siblings, Gail Patterson (John) of Chicago, IL, Nutree Frazier of Duluth, GA, Houston Melton (Donna) of Opelika, AL, Elijah Melton (Mary) of Auburn, AL and Brigetha Finley (Henry) of Auburn, AL; his aunt Annie Katherine Hunter of Auburn, AL; and his brothers-in-law, Clifford Maddox of Loachapoka, AL, Bobby Maddox of Houston, TX, Eddie B. Maddox (Sherry) of Opelika, AL and Nathaniel Maddox of Auburn, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The lying in state was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Traveler Missionary Baptist Church (1229 Dawson Ave S, Waverly, AL 36879). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
