He was predeceased by: his former wife Sue J. Strong; his parents, Lloyd Strong and Dovie Strong; his brothers, Ronnie and Jackie Strong; his granddaughters, Stephanie Murphy and Annabella Strong; his great grandchildren, Briley Hobbs and Addison Murphy; and his stepdaughter Marsha Walden.
He is survived by: his wife Melba Davis Strong; his brother Jimmy (Brenda Sue Strong) of Notasulga; his sons, Mike (Karen), Johnny (Sallie), Joey (Sharon) and Danny (Teresa); and his stepchildren, Jake Young and Rhonda Edgar. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
